The Team

Dr. Cynthia Thaik, MD, Cardiologist Los Angeles

Dr. Cynthia is a Harvard-trained Los Angeles cardiologist who practices with her heart. She helps replace stress, fear, anxiety in her patients and instills a sense of inner calm and peace by educating and inspiring them to take proactive steps towards health and healing. She has helped thousands of people transform their lives through the ways they think, feel, and act.

Intuitively, Dr. Cynthia has known that she would serve this calling since the age of five, after accompanying her physician mother to the medical clinic in their home country of Myanmar, formerly known as Burma. There, she witnessed the pure hands-on art of healing, free from the modern-day challenges of drugs, bureaucracy, and the threat of malpractice.

This experience laid dormant deep within her as she navigated her American life, completed her modern medical training at Harvard Medical School, and subsequently began practicing Western medicine. It wasn’t until the opening of her own wellness center three years ago—where she guided her patients to experience tremendous improvement in their health and well-being through integrative lifestyle practices that focused on nutrition, fitness, and spiritual or meditative practices—that those early childhood memories of the art of self-directed healing were reawakened.

Rediscovering her life purpose has inserted authenticity to her work and filled her with joy, energy and spirit. She believes the mind-body connection for health is best served through the practice of being centered and present in each moment. A practicing Buddhist, Dr. Cynthia is on a mission to deliver that message, best outlined in her new book, Your Vibrant Heart: Restoring Health, Strength & Spirit from the Body’s Core.

As one of the best holistic doctors in Burbank CA, Dr. Cynthia manages two successful cardiology clinics and is the founder of Revitalize-U, a wellness center focused on health, nutrition, weight loss, and detoxification. Beyond her academic and professional achievements, she is most proud of the praises that she receives from her patients who describe her style of practice as caring, compassionate, service, and excellence oriented.

Licensed Acupuncturist, Janis Wong Perez LAc, OMD, RN

Janis has been a Licensed Acupuncturist and Doctor of Oriental Medicine, treating patients using acupuncture since 1982. She also has a Bachelors Degree as a Registered Nurse, having worked in the critical care and recovery room departments, as well as having a position as a school nurse in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Her treatment philosophy is to get patients to be an active participant in their own health care, while improving their health. Patient teaching is done with all patients by showing various acupressure techniques that they may use between treatments as well as recommendations in changing behavior that may contribute to their condition.

A typical treatment is about 45 minutes but, it is tailored to the needs of the individual. Fine thin presterilized 1 time use acupuncture needles are inserted into specific acupuncture points located on the body, arms, legs and ears. Depending on the condition, electrical stimulation may be applied to selected needles. Cupping technique, used in many cultures, may be used, depending on the condition and at times, sliding cupping can be done at the completion of the treatment. Ear beads may be put in place for the patient to apply pressure after the treatment and as a teaching tool.

Acupuncture IS for you if you have—

  • Pain: Back, Neck, Joint, Muscular
  • Headaches & Migraines Arthritis
  • Digestive disorders
  • Gynecology & Reproductive disorders
  • Respiratory disorders
  • Addictions…being ready and wanting to quit is best for optimal results!

Homeopath, Mary Nuñez, BSN, D.Hom

Mary Nuñez is a certified classical homeopath. She received her training from a 3 year program at the Los Angeles School of Homeopathy. Before practicing homeopathy, Mary worked as a registered nurse for 15 years in the Pasadena area, having received her bachelors degree in science in nursing from Loyola University, Chicago. Her experience in western medicine brings her a unique perspective into modern day medicine and the potential role for homeopathy to aid in patients achieving their individual health goals.

Her journey into homeopathy began years ago when searching for answers to her daughter’s health issues. Frustrated with the western system that did not address the core problem, she tried homeopathy and watched her daughters transformation back to health.

Homeopathy is a form of medicine that has been around for over 200 years. It treats the patient on the emotional, physical and mental realms as these components are all connected in the health of an individual. Homeopathy is based off of the Law of Similars. This means that a remedy that produces symptoms in a healthy person will cure those same symptoms when manifested by a person in a diseased state. When a person has symptoms including anxiety, sleep disorders, or heart palpitations, this is the body communicating that it is not in a balanced state. A homeopath collects the unique symptoms of the individual person and matches them with a remedy that is most similar in symptoms produced. A homeopathic remedy is used to stimulate the person to heal himself. Mary is privileged to work in a practice that offers choices to patients in their search for health.
